Carpentry & Finishes
Finish carpentry is where a build gets judged. Gaps, proud joints and wandering reveals are what people notice years later. We take the time at this stage that the stage deserves: scribed to the wall you actually have, fastened where it should be, and caulked and filled properly before paint.

What this covers
Each line is work we do ourselves, on your job, with our crew.

Hanging pre-hung and slab doors, shimmed and set so they swing true and latch without being forced.

Casing and baseboards
Door and window casing, baseboard, shoe and returns, mitred and coped to close tight.

Trim and millwork
Crown, chair rail, panelling, window sills and built-out details to match the room.

Flooring
Hardwood, engineered and laminate installation, including transitions, thresholds and stair nosing.

Stairs
Treads, risers, stringers, skirt boards, newels and railings finished to a consistent line.

Decks
Deck framing, decking, stairs, railings and fascia built for Ontario weather.

Painting
Prep, fill, prime and finish coats on the trim and surfaces within the scope of the job.
How this one runs
The sequence matters here — doing these out of order is how a job ends up being done twice.

Measure and order
Everything is measured on site, not off the plan, and material is ordered with the profile and species confirmed with you.
- 02
Acclimatise
Flooring and trim sit in the house before it is installed so it moves before it is fastened, not after.
- 03
Install
Doors first, then casing, then base, then floor transitions — in the order that keeps every joint accessible.
- 04
Fill, caulk, finish
Holes filled, joints caulked, surfaces sanded and painted, then checked in daylight from standing height.
